Welcome to Faculty of Pharmacy, National Yang-Ming University

About US

National Yang-Ming Medical College, founded in 1975, aims to cultivate a new generation of professional medical talents. We continue building an international reputation in biomedicine. In 1994, we were promoted to "National Yang-Ming University (NYMU)" and became the first medicine-oriented comprehensive university in Taiwan. We encompass the School of Medicine, the School of Biomedical Science and Engineering, the School of Life Sciences, the Center for General Education, the School of Nursing, the School of Dentistry, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the School of Pharmaceutical Sciences. With the increasing demand for pharmacy professionals and to provide the best medical services to patients, we proceeded to build the Faculty of Pharmacy (NYMUFP) to address the lack of high-quality pharmacy education and pharmacy practice in Taiwan. We obtained approval to establish the Faculty of Pharmacy in 2015 and enrolled new students in the fall of 2016.

NYMUFP offers a 6-year pharmacy education program. We coordinated a complete curriculum including didactic courses of pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacy, and pharmacy administration and pharmacy law. In addition, this curriculum implemented a variety of practice courses to foster inter-communication among government, industries, research, and clinical pharmacy, which facilitates to bridge the gap between students’ knowledge and required real-life skills, develop students' lifelong self-learning abilities, and enhance their competitive strengths as international pharmaceutical professionals.

Since NYMU and the nearby reputable Veterans General Hospital (VGH) have maintained cooperative education relationships for many years, NYMUFP students may choose VGH as their practice site for clinical pharmacy training. We have also joined a network of many clinical centers such as National Yang-Ming University Hospital, VGH System (Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung), Koo Foundation Sun Yat-Sen Cancer Center, Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, and Taipei City Hospital. Through the cooperation among government, industries, academy, and hospitals, we aim to build strong networks and cultivate professionals for government policy enactment and law enforcement, industrial R&D and manufacture, research, and clinical pharmacy (including hospital and community pharmacy). Moreover, NYMU has established international partnerships with more than 60 prestigious institutes globally by signing exchange student agreements. These partnerships therefore can provide NYMUFP students with abundant opportunities to study abroad and exchange for numerous educational resources in terms of pursuing degrees, taking courses and joining internships in various pharmaceutical fields.
